A Helping Hand
At some point in our life either we, or someone we love, will need support to help us to continue living independently at home. Whether it is assistance with personal care such as bathing and dressing or an extra pair of hands around the house to help with shopping or preparing meals, help is available.
At Heartfelt Care®, we take great pride in the fact that we help enable people to live in their own homes as independently as possible for as long as possible. We feel strongly that we are not just there to help with daily tasks but also to get to know our clients and understand more about their needs and who they really are.
Some of our client’s may not see anyone else that day, we are their link to the outside world. They may be lonely, vulnerable perhaps even apprehensive, so it is important that we take the time to ensure that our clients are well looked after and gain their trust so that they know that they can always rely on us.
It takes a special kind of individual to make a good carer. They must of course be caring but also be a good listener, have patience, empathy and respect for others. A good sense of humour also helps!
Life as a carer is always varied and we get to meet some wonderful people along the way. When you take time to get to know the people in your care, you’d be surprised at the stories you hear. Sometimes people forget that a person has lived an entire life before we meet them and many have interesting stories to share!
Take the time to become a helping hand – your life will be enriched we promise!
